Nick and Jen to India

Dear Friends and Family,
Jen and I have just recently been called to go on a 10 day mission trip to India with our church, Blue Ridge Community Church (http://www.brcconline.org). There, we will be doing village outreaches, working with an orphanage and possibly doing some light construction. We, as you can imagine, are pretty excited and wanted to let our dear friends know about it. Jen and I have had a desire for many years to be ready to go at any time when the call came. I believe that it really is a privilege to be able to go on this trip. We will be leaving on Nov. 7th with a team of six people from our church including our pastor. He has had a wonderful relationship with the people in India for many years. He has been to India 35 times and loves to see God move in that country. We will be working with an indigenous ministry that has been serving poor tribal people for 25 years. Through the week we will be doing ministry on location in several very new churches out in remote villages. I hope that we will through Christ be able to encourage and just plain love on the people there. Also, prayer will be such an essential part of our interaction with them. I am looking forward to seeing prayer touch the hearts of the Indian people. Most of the people we will be serving believe that spirits possess almost everything and that they are constantly “out to get you ” and must be appeased through sacred rituals and sacrifice. There is much fear and anxiety that is crushing them every day. My prayer is that Jesus will be revealed to them and they will know the freedom and love that is unconditional which is a strange concept to them. We will also be able to minister to 65 children who live in the orphanage that this ministry operates.

I know that the Lord will meet our need of support which is $4,000 for both Jen and I and if you feel lead to give support wonderful, but if you feel led to be a prayer supporter for this trip on our behalf that is fantastic! We need prayer so that there is protection, health, discernment, joy, peace, and most importantly love for the people that only Christ can give us.
Please respond to this email and let us know two things

Whether you will pray daily for these requests

A. God will prepare us to reach these unreached people groups
B. Safety, Health and Discernment
C. Show the Love of Christ to the Indian people.

If you feel led to support us, please make your TAX DEDUCTABLE checks payable to Blue Ridge Community Church (DO NOT PUT OUR NAMES ON THE CHECK FOR TAX COMPLIANCE) and send them to our address so we can compile them and give them all together to the church. Our address is 187 Willow Way Road, Barboursville, VA 22923. No amount is too small to give. In order to meet all travel deadlines, it is important that all donations be received on or before October 26, 2008.
